The Williston Park Little League
Majors Division is a competitive division for 11 and 12 Year-Old Boys.

Here are the answers to several frequently asked
questions concerning the Majors Division:
Age / Gender?
11 and 12 Year-Old Boys.
When / Where are Games Played?
Games are played on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6pm at Caemmerer Field and Friday or Saturdays at Kelleher Field. There's usually one weeknight game and one weekend game
per week.
"Live" Pitching?
There's
"live" pitching by the players throughout the season. Each pitcher can
pitch a maximum
of 85 pitches per game. There are also mandatory calendar and game day rests depending on how many pitches are thrown in a game. Please see the offical majors Rules and Regulations for the this. A Pitcher can not re-enter any
game (as a pitcher)
after being removed as the pitcher. A Pitcher may play the position of catcher after he has pitched.
Field Dimensions?
The teams
play on a standard Little League Baseball Field with 60 feet between the Bases
and
a 46 foot Pitching Mound..
Ball / Bat?
A
Standard Rawlings RLLB1-type League Baseball is used along with an "Approved
by Little League
Baseball" Aluminum Baseball Bat.
Players Equipment?
Uniforms
(Shirt and Pants) are supplied by the Williston Park Little League. Cleats are optional but recommended. You must also supply your own Baseball Glove and Boys must wear a
Protective Cup.
# of Teams?
Depending
on the numbers of registrations each year, there are usually 4-6 teams with 11-14
players per team.
Game Duration / Innings / Scoring?
A
standard Little League Baseball Game is 6 Innings. Each half-inning consists of
3 outs and
Scores and Standings are kept.
Positions?
Players
are somewhat rotated to different positions throughout the season but this is a competitive
division and players are encouraged to learn a position(s).
Coaching?
There are
two (2) official coaches per Team (Manager and Assistant Coach) along with a possible third coach as scorekeeper or 1st/3rd base coach.
Season Length?
Typically, each team plays 10-14 games per season depending on the weather
conditions during the
Spring.
Tournament Team / All Star Game?
Towards
the end of each season, tryouts are held and a tournament team is selected to participate
in the official Little League Williamsport Tournament. The team usually also
participates in at least
one other 11/12 Year-Old Summer Tournament.
Umpires?
There's
one official AFU
umpire at each game.
Summer League?
Yes.
Fall League?
Yes.
Parade?
All
Players are required to march in the Annual Williston Park Little League Parade
at the
the beginning of the Spring Season. All Players are also encouraged to
participate in the Williston
Park Memorial Day Parade.
Picture Day?
All
Players are required to participate in Picture Day for a Team Photo (for their
team sponsor)
along with the option to have their individual picture taken.
